The Safest Miami Neighborhoods
Whether you move to Miami as a young professional, a snowbird or with your family, the safety aspect is always high on everyone’s list. Miami is a very safe place to live, but there are of course areas that excel on the safety scale. As a dad of two little girls, safety is something that is important to me and my wife and a topic close to my heart. I wanted to share my personal experience and findings with you regarding Miami’s safest neighborhoods. Please find below a list of the safest residential areas in Miami.
The Grove is one of the three most preferred Miami residential areas and enjoys 24/7 police control. Coconut Grove is one of the safest places to live in Miami. This family friendly village is known for its walkability with quiet and lush streets. Many families from all over the world are looking for Coconut Grove homes for sale and Coconut Grove condos for sale as the Grove is known for its high-end real estate, laid back lifestyle and the proximity to Miami’s best schools. According to Coconut Grove resident and police commander Manuel Morales, the Grove was the safest neighborhood in the City of Miami with the highest overall crime reduction and the fewest reported crimes (2015).
For those that want more than 24/7 police control and a gated property, Coconut Grove offers many gated communities often located on waterfront lots. These communities will not allow uninvited guests on the premises. Read everything about moving to Coconut Grove
Coral Gables, Miami’s most desired residential area, is the city I call home. The Gables is known for its high-end real estate options and excellent location. Coral Gables is very family-oriented and enjoys a Mobile Patrol and a Neighborhood Crime Watch to keep its community as secure as possible. Many Coral Gables homes for sale come with fences to protect against burglary. Just like the Grove, Coral Gables offers a good amount of gated communities with 24/7 guards and police control for those that wish some extra security and privacy for their family. Fisher Island – One of Miami’s safest and most exclusive areas
Fisher Island – Miami Beach
Nothing beats the safety of Fisher Island. This extremely high-end and private island just south of South Beach is completely self-sufficient and belongs to one of the country’s most expensive zip codes. Residents are guaranteed exclusivity and privacy as the island is only reachable by ferry or boat and visitors are allowed access by ‘Invitation Only’. Approximately 50 security guards and a 24-hour marine patrol further ensure the safety of Fisher Island’s residents. The private enclave even offers a school, so children don’t have to leave the island and can walk to and from school. It should not be a surprise that many families are looking for Fisher Island condos for sale. Read everything about moving to Miami Beach.
Key Biscayne is one of Miami’s most luxurious and private areas. The island off the coast of Brickell and Coconut Grove is in demand with many wealthy families for its safety and exclusivity. The island offers 24/7 police control and many homes are gated. Key Biscayne homes for sale are exclusive and often located on waterfront lots with direct ocean access
Weston (Broward County)
One of the best Miami suburbs for families is Weston. Weston has been ranked in CNNMoney’s “Best Places to Live in America” and Family Circle’s “Ten Best Places for Families”. Weston is also a safe choice to make a home – ranked no 5 in the most safest list in the whole of florida, with a violent crime rating of 91.9 and the chance of being involved in a property crime less than 1%. Weston is a very family-minded city with tight knit communities that look out for one another and each others safety.
